Barbes is a little bar cum eclectic performance space in Brooklyn, a good place for a quiet night-out. Linger over an anise spirit or classic pastis cocktails while listening to some soothing music. Everything about this bar is wondrous, from the engraved tin ceiling to the dim romantic red glow that illuminates its interiors. Another interesting feature is its back room which offers up a "globe trotting" array of nightly events from film screenings to live bands and attracts a pretty well-traveled crowd.
