This large, independent Brooklyn music store carries arguably the city's largest selection of hip-hop on both vinyl and CD. You can also count on hearing the latest artists emanating from the sound system. Not only are mainstream artists like Mary J. Blige and Lauryn Hill represented, but also plenty of older music and artists on independent labels. Beat Street also has a jazz section, as well as Top 40 titles, and it even sells DJ equipment.
