Café Socialista, located in the über trendy Meatpacking district, has musician Sting as one of its investors. This multi-level establishment contains of a highly exclusive lounge on the upper level and a more easily accessible restaurant on the lower level. Both the lounge and the restaurant have a distinctly Cuban vibe in terms of the décor, music and food. The restaurant menu is not very extensive and features entrées such as the Pechuga Y Piernita , Braised Chicken and Roasted Duck Breast. Appetizers like the Bocadillos or small fried Cuban sandwiches are quite delicious and deserve a special mention as do the signature cocktails which include a refreshing 'Grape Mojito' and a mean vodka based martini called 'Socialista'. - Anjeeta Nayar Review © 2009, Wcities |
