Built in the 1880s and recently renovated, the Chelsea is a hotel and apartment house that has become a true institution in New York City. It has served as a home to a number of famous authors, artists and other creative souls (including Allen Ginsberg, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Arthur Miller). With only 100 rooms set aside for short-term visitors, guests should try to book a room well in advance. Delivery service from one of the many restaurants in the neighborhood can be made to your room.
