La Conquita is probably one of the few, if not the only place in New York to get wholesome food in large portions for as little as USD4. This unpretentious restaurant has existed since the mid nineties not for its chic ambiance or for it's exotic ingredients. The simple secret is the fact that the little kitchen dishes out rice and beans, pork, goat, chicken and a few veggies, all perfectly cooked and seasoned, at a brisk pace.
