Great food, jazz music |
547 West 145th Street (between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue) New York, NY 10031 +1 212 234 2356 |
Owner Calvin Copeland brought this place to Harlem in 1961, and today it is popular with visitors who enjoy the Gospel brunch or jazz headliners like Dakota Station, Irene Red and Carrie Smith. Tuesday to Thursday there is an all-you-can-eat buffet. The menu is filled with New Orleans-style, traditional Southern and Continental dishes, including fried chicken and chitterlings and Louisiana Gumbo Peanut Soup. Next door, customers line up for cafeteria service and enjoy ribs, fried catfish and fresh banana pudding. Review © 2009, Wcities |
