East River Park Amphitheater is located within the East River Park and is famous for hosting live performances, concerts and other events. It has undergone many changes since its opening in 1941, and was recently revamped in 2002 — it looks as good as new now. The amphitheater is part of the East River Music Project, which hosts free music concerts to encourage young talent in the state of New York. It can also be booked for fund-raising and benefit shows.
