Blintzes and borscht |
228 West 47th Street, (between Broadway and Eighth Avenue) Edison Hotel New York, NY 10036 +1 212 840 5000 http://www.edisonhotelnyc.com |
A part of the Hotel Edison, the Edison Cafe has laid out its own special niche. The deli and bakery goods here may be consumed on the spot— quickly, conveniently and cheaply. For many years, this place has been known jokingly as the "Polish Tea Room." It may not be an upscale oasis, but the Jewish food creations are tasty enough that its takeout business is thriving. The blintzes, borscht, matzoh ball soup, gefilte fish, herring, potato pancakes and pot roast are all popular. Cash only. Review © 2009, Wcities |
