China meets Guyana |

This Chinese-Guyanese restaurant is a rare breed indeed! Its fame has spread by word of mouth, and the two women who deftly handle the bar make a formidable team, though they are culturally separated by around 9,000 miles. The décor is Chinese, the band, West Indian and the food includes Guyanese gems not easily found elsewhere, making this a pot-pourri of experiences. The servings are enormous, so come over armed with a big appetite, or, a couple of pals. Jerk Chicken Fried Rice is apparently the choice dish here. Curries are aplenty and you'll find some Indian favorites like Tandoor Chicken as well. Adding to the melee are some non-Guyanese style noodle dishes, cooked in various meats, and a sweeping wave of seafood. Vegetarians may be in for a big disappointment, for the two veggie dishes on the menu struggle to keep up with the riot of taste caused by the others. Review © 2009, Wcities |
