If you want the vintage sense of a typical nightclub with a new-age ear for music and dance, Happy Valley is the soirée central of the Big Apple. This creation makes a tribute to the legendary 1970s and 80s nightclubs. All of the "traditional" aspects of a VIP extravaganza are here: dancing cabaret girls behind glass, neon lit staircase, a giant disco ball and cheetah print banquettes. However, it is far from the cheesiness of A Night at the Roxbury. Happy Valley holds its own facetious air that outreaches all other "new-fangled" nightclubs. Its eccentricities, such as the 12-ft spread eagle pair of legs mounted upon the bar, embolden Happy Valley to a wide angled mix of "old and new." Review © 2009, Wcities |
