Housed in a 1920s building that was renovated a few years ago, this hotel offers small, basic but comfortable rooms. Expect to pay more for a private bathroom. The neighborhood itself is nondescript but convenient to anything in Midtown, including the Empire State Building just a few blocks away. Also, take a walk out to Lexington Avenue around 20th Street and you will be rewarded with a variety of cheap Indian restaurants and food shops.
