Tiny, enchanting Governor's Island off the New York Harbor plays host to this festival each year. The event begins in the afternoon and celebrates the 1920s decade through the rest of the day—jazz music, dance demos, food stalls, vintage automobiles and clothing sales are the highlights of the show. Hop on to a ferry in the morning and start with a tour of the island, checking out its pretty fortresses and naval quarters. And don't forget to take in the panorama of the harbor at sunset.
