This East Village French restaurant ranges from cozy to cramped, depending on the night. But through engaging conversation, the attentive staff makes patrons forget they are literally rubbing elbows with strangers at the next table. Nice accents are placed throughout the restaurant. The walls feature attractive paintings, and dinner by candlelight provides a romantic setting. You can begin with the salmon tartare, followed by a healthy frisee salad with lardons and Roquefort cheese. Also try either the Lapin a la Moutade (rabbit with Dijon mustard), Steak Frites, fois gras or escargot.
