Landmark Upper East Side hotel |

This 300-room hotel (formerly the Barbizon Hotel & Towers) is considered an Upper East Side landmark. Originally built in the 1920s, for years it operated as a genteel residence for women. Many models and actresses-including Grace Kelly-called the hotel home. In the early 1980s the hotel became a general tourist hotel, but in 1997 a major renovation transformed the property into a more upscale and luxurious destination. The location is great, right near Bloomingdale's and lots of clothing boutiques. Guests also have complimentary access to the nearby Equinox Fitness Club and pool. Review © 2009, Wcities |
