Construction for this historic park began in 1883. It is located on the site where the Battle of Harlem Heights was fought during the Revolutionary War in 1776. The 31-acre park runs from West 110th to West 123rd Street and separates Harlem from the campus of Columbia University. The well-maintained grounds include softball diamonds, playgrounds, basketball courts, a pond and waterfall, a picnic area, and a number of impressive monuments. Review © 2009, Wcities |
