Center of New York Islamic worship |
Third Avenue (between 96th and 97th streets) New York, NY 10128 |
Built in 1966, New York's largest mosque combines both ancient and modern architectural elements, and each day welcomes the city's thousands of Muslims to prayer. For the interior, the builders took special inspiration from the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. The New York Mosque is located on the Upper East Side, and Muslims and non-Muslims are welcome for all prayer services. Review © 2009, Wcities |
