This smoky, eclectic dive is a cross between the seedy bars that once dominated the Tribeca scene and some of the area's wackier art galleries. The crowd is very intense and very tattooed, and loud, angry young bands play on the stage. There are also occasional poetry readings. The décor is akin to gothic art, with an accent on reds and funky statues. For a place this lowbrow the drinks are expensive, but at least the bartenders make them strong. Review © 2009, Wcities |
