As the name implies, P.S. 122 was once a public school, but now it serves as a local community arts and culture center. Accordingly, the P.S. now stands for Public Space. Local groups use the building to mount dance, theatre, music and caberat programs. There are two performance spaces as well as a gallery space, and the shows tend to be avant garde and experimental.
