Yes. This is the Plaza, as in "Plaza Suite", the celebrated Neil Simon comedy. This is one of New York's grandest hotels, built in 1907 in the French Renaissance style. The setting on Fifth Avenue and Central Park could not be more magnificent. Some of the rooms are small, but if you select one with a park view the size will not matter. Replete with the splendor of crystal chandeliers and views of the inner court, city or park views, rooms are plushly decorated with quality furnishings and fabrics. A special treat is the formal afternoon tea in the hotel's Palm Court. In 2008 the hotel completed a $400 million renovation, which included downsizing the 802 hotel accommodations to 282, allowing a higher level of personalized service, including a butler on each floor. A new lobby off the Fifth Avenue entrance has been created, and the Grand Ballroom restored. The are also plans to open a new restaurant, spa, and fitness facility, as well as add expanded shopping areas. However, opulence doesn't come cheap. Hotel rooms start at 775USD per night.
