Raynham Hall Museum was built by the Townsends, one of the founders of Oyster Bay. This 20-room museum has been accredited by the American Association of Museums. This house has been honored by the State of New York and declared a part of the Revolutionary War Trails Site. This is a recognition of the Townsends' involvement in the fight for independence. The museum provides an insight in the life of the people of the Long Island before modernization changed everything. Review © 2009, Wcities |
