Started in 1899 by Sam Schapiro, this is quite possibly America's oldest Kosher winery. It is still run by Sam's grandson Norman. The grapes are grown in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, but they are fermented and bottled in the nine wine cellars located at their shop on the Lower East Side (which makes it Manhattan's only winery).
