This recently renovated restaurant is located in a sleek, casual townhouse in the beautiful Gramercy neighborhood. The menu of innovative American cuisine has also been tweaked, as chef and owner Diane Forley has been joined in the kitchen by her new husband Michael Otsuka (formerly of Thalia in the Theater District). Dim lighting, fireplaces and an outdoor garden create a romantic and soothing environment at Verbena. The menu includes such dishes as Braised Beef in Beer, Endive Salad, and a Verbena Crème Brulee.
