Wild Quaker Parrots made their home in urban Brooklyn during the 1970's after a shipment of birds from Argentina destined for New York pet shops was accidentally released at JFK (according to one popular theory). These sedentary birds did not roam too far from JFK and live in stick nests in trees or man-made structures. Follow bird enthusiast Steve Baldwin as he leads you on a parrot safari to discover these exotic green birds that have built their nests in the floodlights at Brooklyn College's athletic field and the gothic arches of Green-wood Cemetery. -Linda Steinmuller
