This cozy townhouse restaurant has been a West Village staple since around 1920, and somewhere along the way it became an institution. Today, New Yorkers dine here for a taste of yesterday, when nobody even knew what organic or nouvelle meant. On the menu, one finds decent renditions of American classics like roast turkey, meatloaf and other hearty fare.
