No Discrimination! |
Northwest 35th & Classen Memorial Park Oklahoma City, OK 73118 United States +1 405 524 2131 http://www.okcpride.com/ |
Held over a weekend every June, the Oklahoma City Pride Parade and Festival grows in size and stature each year. With a view to support the gay, lesbian and transsexual community and lessen discrimination and homophobia, the event is lively and informative. It takes place at the Memorial Park and buzzes with activity. Various vendors and a separate children's area keep visitors entertained. The parade itself generally takes place on a Sunday, and shouldn't be missed; the innovative decorated floats are a sight to behold. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Ring in the New Year |

Sure, New York City might have the biggest New Year's celebration, but no place can rival Oklahoma City when it comes to a party. Opening Night draws thousands of Oklahomans to Bricktown to ring in a brand new year. Revelers can grab hearty food and drink from one of the area's famous restaurants and breweries, or just mingle among the throngs and enjoy the midnight fireworks display. This event is designed to be family-friendly, and even with the large number of attendees, the environment is casual and peaceful. Ticket prices are USD6. Review © 2007, Wcities |
