Bahama Breeze

Caribbean flair with food

Orlando, FL 32819
United States
+1 407 248 2499
http://www.bahamabreeze.com
International Drive, with its unrelenting string of hotels and convenience stores, is about as far as you can get from the serenity of the Caribbean. However, there is an island of retreat here, where enthusiasts have created an island feel through the liberal use of wood shutters, bright primitive art and ceiling fans. This eatery welcomes families with young children, so it might be wise to expect a little noise at favorite kid mealtimes. To get the island flavors going, you might begin with Conch Fritters, and then progress to Seared Tuna Steak or Coconut Chicken. Most entrees are available in half portions, too, and the restaurant offers a full bar.

Owner, Jeff Hazell spent his youth helping his father, a professional lobsterman. His restaurant prides itself on serving only lobsters from cold New England waters. Boston Lobster is popular with any lobster lover. The atmosphere is heavy on the wood paneling typical of Boston restaurants with dim lighting at each table. The signature Incredible Seafood Feast is still the most popular attraction; other offerings include various fried platters, such as cod, scallops and shrimp.

Orlando, FL 32819
United States
+1 407 363 9727
http://www.thebutchershopsteak...
This restaurant bills itself as offering 'the biggest and best grain-fed beef direct from the Midwest'. It's an accurate assessment by all accounts. What makes this restaurant even more interesting than the average beef-and-baked potato spot is its invitation to guests to grill their own steaks over the restaurant's centerpiece barbecue pit. It might be fun to try your hand, but if you're of the "I'm not going to a restaurant to cook my own meal" camp, the trained staff is happy to serve and cook. Favorites include the eight-ounce Filet Mignon, the 22-ounce Porterhouse steak and the 17-ounce Boneless Rib Eye. Finish your meal with choices from exquisite wines, martinis, vodkas, etc. And last but not the least, don't forget to dig into some sweet pickings.

Orlando's elegant Peabody Hotel is an oasis in the International Drive area, and this restaurant lives up to the hotel's reputation. Marble floors and a show kitchen dominate the atmosphere. Thanks to the hotel's location near the city's convention center, the clientele is largely comprised of business travelers. The fare is upscale Italian, and within that cuisine, there's a flavor for every taste. A smattering of mushrooms updates the Polenta, an Italian country favorite. Entrées include Angel Hair Pasta with Scallops. Pumpkin cheesecake is among the dessert offerings and the restaurant offers a full bar.

Located quite close to the convention center, this restaurant and lounge features wholesome cooking that appeals to conventioneers or anyone staying in or near the popular International Drive area. Moderate prices, sizzling steaks, baked potatoes and solid seafood set this restaurant off from the competitors on this busy drive. A pleasant historic ambience prevails with wood exterior and lots of brick inside, along with tables created from an old Ferris wheel and other historic items. The specialty is food cooked on a wood-fired grill. On the very long menu are plenty of grilled steaks, chicken and rib selections, along with pastas and some vegetarian options. All the sauces and salad dressings are made on the premises. The restaurant is proud of its extensive kid's menu.
