Italian restaurant with charm |
180 Cooper Street Cartier Place Suit Hotel Ottawa, ON K2P 2L5 Canada +1 613 232 0055 http://www.suitedreams.com/ |
This little restaurant, located below the Cartier Place Hotel, has all the signs of a classic Italian bistro, from chequered green tablecloths to photos and paintings of the Italian coast. The comfortable dark oak feel, large bar, street-side patio and homemade gelato help make the restaurant appealing to local businesspeople and families, as well as hotel patrons. Great food, great prices |
296 Elgin Street Ottawa, ON K2P 1M3 Canada +1 613 233 5525 |
Run by sisters Jeanne d'Arc and Marie "Mama" Antoinette, (yes, those are their real names) this unassuming Lebanese restaurant on Ottawa's trendy Elgin Street is a must visit for anyone looking for something a little different. The food is excellent and inexpensive, and available 22 hours a day. Favourites include the Shawarma Platter and the Club Sandwich. There are also several vegetarian dishes. What really distinguishes this establishment, however, is the eclectic, late-night clientele - no one is turned away, no matter how "different" they might be. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cozy Elgin Street bistro |
354 Elgin Street Ottawa, ON K2P 1M8 Canada +1 613 235 7541 |
The pastel frescos that cover every available inch of wall space add to the hectic charm of this tiny bistro at the south end of Elgin Street. The front windows are removed in the summer to give it a patio feel that is topped off by flower boxes and wrought-iron railings. Thin-crust pizzas, a full wine list and friendly service make the restaurant appealing to a wide range of diners. The menu is strong on creativity, with a unique but distinctly Italian approach to all of its veal, chicken, seafood and vegetarian dishes. Review © 2007, Wcities |
