This elegant restaurant overlooking busy Rideau Street, at the south corner of the Byward Market across from the Rideau Centre, combines creative fusion cuisine with a gallery of local artwork. Popular with both couples and business diners, the menu includes a variety of multicultural flavour combinations, including Carribean and Mediterranean. The cuisine is particularly rich in Pacific Rim influences, with Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Malaysian food all contributing to the medley. The menu also features a number of chicken and seafood dishes, as well as some vegetarian selections.

http://www.shanghaiottawa.com The funkiest of Ottawa's Asian restaurants, this colourful Chinatown eatery offers a fusion of Cantonese, Szechuan and Asian fare, along with creative lighting, modern art and a wild collection of art deco furnishings. Most days the restaurant caters to a large and varied crowd of casually dressed patrons, including families but things turn trendier on Thursday evenings with a DJ spinning everything from hip hop to jazz. The restaurant features a noodle bar and an eclectic selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes. The bar is fully licensed.
