Unique Gathering Place |
1 Byward Market Ottawa, ON K1N 7A1 Canada +1 613 562 3325 http://www.byward-market.com |
This unique shopping and restaurant district covers nearly 12 square blocks (north of Rideau Street and east of Sussex Drive) and offers something for everyone. You'll find trendy stores selling the latest in designer fashions, jewelry and artwork, as well as a variety of restaurants. In the evening, the market is a buzz of activity as partygoers hop from nightclub to nightclub. To experience the true roots of the market, visit during the weekend, when local farmers and artisans ply their wares near the Byward Market Building. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The trendiest shopping district |
55 ByWard Market Square Ottawa, ON K1N 9C3 Canada +1 613 562 3325 / +1 613 244 4410 http://www.byward-market.com/ |
Located between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street, the Byward Market is a re-created farmer's market that will bring any visitor back to the 19th century. Antiquers can spend hours searching through Afghan Antiques & Jewellery, and Justina McCaffrey Haute Couture is just one of the many high-class fashion outlets. In addition to the excellent shopping, the Market is home to many galleries. Dining is the hardest decision, with dozens of bistros and cafes, including the elegant Courtyard Restaurant, to choose from. It is one of the most vibrant after hours spots in the city, offering clubs and pubs such as Surface. Getting home is no problem with hundreds of cabs and the central Rideau Centre bus stop right in the Market on Rideau Street. Review © 2007, Wcities |
