Small 17th-century hotel |
4-5 Bath Place Oxford OX1 3SU United Kingdom +44 1865 79 1812 http://www.bathplace.co.uk/ |
This small 13-bedroom hotel consists of a converted cluster of 17th century cottages huddled close to the old city wall and the Turf Tavern, hidden away deep in the heart of Oxford. Situated between New College and Hertford College, the hotel is full of character and is located in the perfect spot for sightseeing. There is a small bar and a lounge, but the restaurant does not serve lunch or dinner. This shouldn't be a problem however, as the hotel is very close to the city center shops and restaurants. Affordable luxury |
374 Banbury Road Oxford, Oxfordshire OX2 7PP United Kingdom +44 1865 51 3513 http://www.burlington-house.co.uk |
Burlington House is a five—star bed and breakfast inn, the prices are very reasonable for Oxford; but there's a feeling of luxury about the place that you'd expect to pay a lot more for. This 3-storey Victorian building is a light and airy with plenty of thought given to comfort and relaxation. The home-made food is a highlight and any special dietary needs are catered for with the minimum of fuss. A specially prepared room has been put aside for disabled guests. The award winning breakfast varieties served here include freshly brewed coffee, home baked bread, homemade Granola, eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice and Greek yoghurt. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Country manor house elegance |
66a Banbury Road Oxford OX2 6JP United Kingdom +44 1865 51 2121 http://www.cotswoldlodgehotel.... |
This hotel offers the feel of a country manor house combined with the convenience of being less than a mile from Oxford city center. The Victorian building has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The elegant restaurant offers a wide range of high quality dishes, made, for instance, using local lamb and game, wild Scottish salmon and fresh Cornwall lobster. The graceful Scholars Bar, with its military pictures, is a pleasant room in which to relax, and there is a patio for alfresco dining when the weather is good enough. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Close to city centre |
The High, Merton Street Oxford, Oxfordshire OX1 4BE United Kingdom +44 1865 24 8244 |
This hotel is next to the university examinations building, so a stay in early summer means you'll be perfectly positioned to witness at least one traditional Oxford event: the obligatory bottle of champagne over a student's head at the end of their final exams. The Eastgate is also close to Merton and Magdalen colleges, and the academic environment is reflected in the decor of the hotel bar and lounge. The hotel is popular with both business travellers and tourists, thanks mainly to its very central location. Review © 2007, Wcities |

High quality in quiet location |
Church Way Iffley Village Oxford, Oxfordshire OX4 4DZ United Kingdom +44 1865 74 9988 |
Iffley Village isn't an area that most visitors get round to seeing. It has retained its old-fashioned village atmosphere, and is a pretty, tranquil place to stay. The Hawkwell is surrounded by trees and lawns, and while it's certainly geared up for business conferences and weddings, this is highly recommended accomodation, whatever your reason for visiting Oxford. The conservatory - built around a patio garden and fountain - is where most guests go to relax at the end of the day. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Quiet location and pleasant grounds |
Linton Road Oxford OX2 6UJ United Kingdom +44 1865 55 3461 |
This hotel is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre in a quiet part of north Oxford. It is set in an acre and a half of gardens which boast a croquet lawn and a putting green. There are seventy bedrooms, some in what were originally Edwardian houses, and some in a modern extension at the rear. The Library Restaurant's oak-panelled walls and original stone fireplaces add to the warmth of this Best Western hotel. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Grand, traditional hotel |
Beaumont Street Oxford, Oxfordshire OX1 2LN United Kingdom +44 (0)870 400 8200 http://www.randolph-hotel.com/ |
This Grade II listed building is something of a city landmark, and it has been improved and extended many times since it first opened in 1866. It's worth noting that several of the bedrooms are quite cramped and the reception area is small and unimpressive for a hotel of this quality. The Randolph is nevertheless a grand hotel, and its central location adds to its popularity. On the corner of Magdalen and Beaumont streets, it is close to the main shopping centre, but in an area that isn't too busy or noisy. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Stylish and very central hotel |
92-94 High Street Oxford OX1 4BN United Kingdom +44 1865 79 9599 http://www.oldbank-hotel.co.uk/ |
If you're looking for a luxurious hotel with great views over the city, try the Old Bank - one of the most central hotels you're likely to find in Oxford. As the name suggests, it was formerly a bank: the beautiful buildings have been tastefully converted into a luxury hotel with a stylish contemporary interior. Large, dramatic oil paintings in the Quod restaurant and bar form part of an impressive collection of 20th century British art which can be found throughout the hotel. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Charming hotel in ancient building |
1 Banbury Road Oxford, Oxfordshire OX2 6NN United Kingdom +44 1865 31 0210 http://www.oldparsonage-hotel.... |
One of Oxford's best-loved hotels, the Old Parsonage is set in a beautiful 17th-century building, just on the edge of the main commercial area of the city. Each room is furnished slightly differently, but they all share the same cosy and charmingly English chintzy feel. The Parsonage bar and restaurant is a relaxing place to eat, and it's worth noting that it also provides 24-hour room service. The very popular and quaint tea room and roof terrace add to the charm. Quiet hotel close to the river |
Church Way Iffley Village Oxford, Oxfordshire OX4 4EY United Kingdom +44 1865 77 5974 |
If you don't mind not being in the centre of town, Iffley village is a very pleasant place to stay - close to a tributary of the River Thames and to Iffley Lock. This is a small, family-run place and the hotel bar is also a local pub - fairly quiet during the week, but things can liven up a bit at the weekend. There's reasonable bar food on offer, or you can dine in the hotel restaurant. For special occasions, the hotel has two executive rooms - one with a four-poster bed and the other with a jacuzzi.
