In the Bois de Boulogne |
Bois de Boulogne Paris France |
The Acclimatization Garden only occupies a small area of the Bois de Boulogne, a huge park created under Napoléon III. In the main part of this park, one can find exotic animals, lakes, gardens and recreation areas. The young as well as the elders will immediately feel at home. The kiddies will enjoy the mini-zoo while, the older kids can try the mini-motorbikes. But if the garden is so popular, it's mainly because it offers a wide variety of games and attractions: magical mazes, mirroring games, really old and up-to-date caroussels, go-karting, roller-blade and bike routes, and other activities that have pleased Parisians for generations, even if the park has changed a lot since then. The success of the park also lies in the fact that it has managed to remain modern through the years. Don't leave the park without riding one of the many trains, which cross the gardens ... you wouldn't want to miss a terrific view of the surrounding greenery! Review © 2007, Wcities |

This magnificent garden in the Bois de Boulogne was constructed in 1777 in only 64 days, due to a bet conducted between Marie Antoinette and the Count of Artois. Its composition was inspired by Chinese landscapes and imagery, and it features pagodas, fountains, grottoes and vast expanses of flowers and greenery. In 1865 an orangerie was constructed which still houses oranges in addition to classical concerts and expositions. The orangerie has a capacity for 200 seated and 300 for cocktails.
