This 9th Arrondissement theater was established in 1901 as théâtre de la Comédie-Royale. Through the years it has preserved its comedic lineage, becoming Comédie Caumartin in 1960. The private mansion of President Adolphe Thiers, the 19th century politician and historian, may be scheduled for visits by groups of 10 to 50 people (EUR3.70 per person). The house is managed and preserved by the Fondation Dosne Thiers, along with its impressive library of French history including political, military, social, and administrative approaches.
