Arrival of the Tour de France |
Avenue des Champs-Elysées Paris 75008 http://www.letour.fr/ |
The legendary Tour de France lasts about three weeks and is usually comprised between 3300 and 3500 km in length. During these three weeks, the competitors ride across the whole French territory, passing mountains like the Alps and the Pyrénées (up to 2000 m high) and borders (in Italy or Spain). Scrolling between 150 and 200 km daily, the competitors only get two days of rest during the race. The Tour ends up at the end of July on the Champs-Elysées, where the crowd is assembled to acclaim the Maillot Jaune. Review © 2009, Wcities |
