The Barbès Market is held under the elevated tracks along the boulevard la Chapelle and it's the prime point for the gathering of the Arab, North African and Francophone communities that inhabit Paris. It's an open air market for food and merchandise and one can find almost anything here. This usually vast space is almost non-negotiable once the crowds descend upon it, be prepared to squeeze and shove your way through. However, in all of Paris, the Barbès Market is the cheapest. Once here, it's worth paying a visit to the neighboring Goutte d'Or neighborhood for traditional Maghrebi delights.
