Open in 1917 and completely refurbished in 1981, this permanent collection at the Richelieu site of the Bibliothèque Nationale (National Library) is an exhibit of five million coins and medals as well as other antique museum pieces (royal thrones, silverware, jewelry, etc). This treasure comes partly from the kings of France estates and was kept from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Two rooms are dedicated to the history of art and currency. Review © 2009, Wcities |
