Le Laffitte cafe becomes busy at noon, when middle class businessmen from nearby come to gobble down a hearty meal on their lunch breaks. With the day's specials put up on blackboards, red and white checked table cloths, the cafe has a home-like atmosphere. And the food is excellent but not so much attention has been paid to the decor. Native traditional meals that are not found at most other places are made here. The classics on the menu are duck breast with green peppercorn sauce, roast chicken, pork shoulder and rice pudding.
