A world of artists |
12 Rue Cortot Paris 75018 +33 (0)1 4925 8937 http://www.museedemontmartre.fr/ |
The area of Montmartre with its village atmosphere has inspired many artists. Located in a 17th-century mansion on this famous hill, the little museum tells the political and religious history of the small and picturesque village through various documents, artefacts and art. Among the highlights of the museum is a collection of paintings by Modigliani and Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as mementoes from great composers such as Gustave Charpentier. Review © 2009, Wcities |
