Since 1920, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe has been the highly prestigious accompanying race to the Grand Prix de Paris, run on the first Sunday in October every year at the Hippodrome de Longchamps. Today, this competition offers a total of 2 million euros in prize money, the vast majority going to the first place winner.
