This restaurant serves good old Anglo-Saxon cuisine (fish and chips with tartare sauce, roast lamb with mint sauce), with vintage Bordeaux. There may be French wines, but don't worry "Bordeaux is a former British province," or so they reassure us. There's also a large whisky cellar, in the grand Scottish tradition. A business clientele fills the place at lunchtime, evenings see couples dining under the watchful eye of Bertie, as Queen Victoria's husband was affectionately known, whose portraits hang on the walls.

+33 1 42 23 00 30 The latest venture from the people who brought you the pub of the same name in the Rue St-André-des-Arts, Corcoran's on the Boulevard de Clichy (Pigalle district) has succeeded in creating a fairly authentic atmosphere thanks to a an old-fashioned bar, plenty of old Irish ads on the walls, and above all a legitimate personnel and clientele of expatriates. Irish, French, Americans and Brits mingle here at happy hour or during big rugby and soccer matches on the big screen; the place also attracts quite a few tourists from nearby Pigalle and Montmartre.

Try the excellent cocktails, served by English-speaking barmen. Come nightfall and techno music is played downstairs, for a young and cosmopolitan crowd. Delicious snacks are available, like the Supernacho, with guacamole and melted cheese. Unbeatable Sunday brunch from Noon-4p. Happy hours 8p-10p.

Rose Bakery

Run by a French-British couple, the restaurant's menu is distinctly British. Try the smoked salmon and dill or the broccoli quiche for lunch or brunch. For other times, there's fresh-baked scones, shortbread, cheesecake, carrot cake and other English favorites. Don't forget to complete the experience with a cup of tea. The best part is you can eat your all-English meal at the relaxed Parisian pace!
