A few yuppies but a lot more slightly older folks, mainly of the middle-aged, ex-student-revolutionary variety, come to dance the night away at the Rive Gauche (Left Bank). Here one may hear jazz and rock, but more importantly a great deal of world music in the truest sense of the term: zouk, samba, salsa, bossa nova, raï, reggae in short, just about everything but French standards, which is just fine with everyone.
