While the 16th arrondissement isn't exactly the most happening district in Paris, it definitely has one of the hippest restaurants. Tokyo Eat is so cool it manages to pull off being avant-garde and '60s retro at the same time' – and has excellent food to boot. Set in a massive warehouse-like space, everything in this restaurant is industrial-sized: from the UFO-shaped lamps hovering above every table, to the generous portions that appear on every plate. Despite the restaurant's name, the food is French with Asian influences. The combinations often sound rather wacky (e.g., steak tartare satay), but they are invariably delicious. -Barbara Diggs
