This centre has only recently had a brand new aquatic centre added. The facilities include a fully equipped gym, aerobics program and heated swimming pool. There are also a number of lifestyle programs conducted at the centre for both children and adults. Courses vary from arts and crafts to self-defence. Challenge Stadium is Perth's premier sports complex and home to the Western Australian Institute of Sport. Since its opening in 1982, the complex has been a regular fixture for major national and international events such as the National Basketball League games and FINA Swimming Championships. There is an Olympic standard aquatic centre, two arenas, a gym, an adventure training course, as well as function facilities, a cafe, childcare, a sports wear shop, accommodation, in-house food and beverage operations and a museum. Heated saltwater pools--indoors, out-door and hydrotherapy - gives you chlorine-free air and water in which to train and play.
