This novel festival takes away the pretensions of the typical haughty art fair and focuses the majority of the events directly on kids. It gives burgeoning artists a chance to interact with the cultural community, and celebrates the contribution youthful creators make to the city. All media are represented (visual, dance, theatre and film) and workshops are an integral part of the gala. Festival venues in central Perth include the Art Gallery of Western Australia, the Western Australian Museum and Stirling Park. Ticket prices range from free to AUD15.

This event consistently dazzles audiences. It is actually a hodgepodge of festivals under one massive artistic umbrella. Venues throughout the city take part, hosting visual arts exhibitions, theatre performances, club raves, as well as musical, dance and acrobatic extravaganzas. 'Celestial City' (Perth Cultural Centre) in Northbridge acts as the central point for many of the celebrations. The club of choice, the Watershed, presents blues, deep dub and trip hop, and Latino acts. Festival highlights include a major outback installation by international artist Antony Gormley and the Fremantle International Jazz Festival. Admission varies by event.
