Convivial pub, superb seafood |
51 Cantonment Street Perth, WA 6160 Australia +61 (0)8 9335 1351 http://www.clancysfishpub.com.au |
Take the friendliest country pub add a city chef's panache, fresh local seafood and fine acoustic sounds. Mix them with the charm of the Irish and you might get a place like Clancy's. The dining area has quirky seashore motifs and the homey back verandah, shaded by gum trees, is a family space where children play. Sunday afternoon music sessions are the height of conviviality. Great live music on weekend nights too! To eat? Seafood of course. Everything from fish and chips to a laden seafood platter. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Metropolis Concert Club is the definitive clubbing and concert experience in Perth. "Metros" is the biggest club in Perth with a maze-like interior and tiered auditorium. There are several bar areas and two dance floors--an intimate one upstairs with wooden floorboards, normally used for VIPs, and a stark metal one below. Dress well. Alternative clubbing |
104 Murray Street Perth, WA 6000 Australia +61 (0)8 9325 3638 |
Loft is known as Perth's only alternative nightclub. One regular describes the scene as being a different experience every night. Sunday is 80s night so wear big hair and walk like an Egyptian. The interior is sheer decadence. The decor is dark, replete with ripped up and gaffer-taped black leather sofas. Music ranges from New Order to the Blur and everything in between (except on Sundays). Try the Loft's own concoctions with music-themed names. Review © 2007, Wcities |

139 James Street Northbridge Perth, WA 6003 Australia +61 (0)8 9328 7447 |
In some ways, Rise tries to emulate the atmosphere of the UK dance scene based around Ministry of Sound, Gatecrasher and Cream. Unless there is a special event, most nights start with popular dance chart music, easing into a more hardcore house set. They also play other forms of dance music like trance and euro house. Regular DJs include Simon Barwood. Like most clubs--wines, beer and spirits are available. Unlike most clubs you can buy glow sticks and whistles at the door. Review © 2007, Wcities |
