Considered to be the progenitor of American horticulture, Bartram's Garden is an 18th Century wonder on the banks of the Schuykill River. Established in 1731, the home of John and William Bartram, the first American botanists, the gardens stand prominently on an estate of 44 acres with a view of the city skyline in the background. This site is home to aspiring scientists to discover the bevy of new species in the Americas. Review © 2009, Wcities |
