In the footsteps of Washington |
1295 General Washington Memorial Boulevard Philadelphia, PA 18977 +1 215 493 3634 http://www.washingtoncrossinginn.com |
This beautiful Colonial-style inn is supposed to be the last dining place that General Washington visited before the famous battle of 1776. In fact, the Inn itself is a historic landmark and was the halting point for many colonial travelers as well. If history is not your area of interest, then maybe the Inn's beautiful layout will appeal to you as will the food. Visitors can dine on the porch, the gardens or arrange to be seated by the fireside at the Hearth Room. The food is mainly continental but the menu also has an Asian tinge to it, such as the Sesame crusted tuna with wasabi or teriyaki sauce. Dishes like Grilled Swordfish with mango and papaya salsa and the stuffed Flounder Florentine with crab meat-are fresh spin-offs are worth a try. Review © 2009, Wcities |
