Historic restaurant with old-town flavor |
Two North Central Avenue (Central Avenue & Washington Street) Phoenix, AZ 85004 +1 602 257 1688 |
In 1929, the place was a burger joint and gin mill, complete with a bookie business in the back. This tavern captures much of that feel with vintage pictures and dismembered pool tables as decor. Serving sandwiches like the French dip, turkey club and an old-fashioned Reuben, this tavern also features a daily Blue Plate Special, some salads and a breakfast menu. In fact, the Jeremiah Scramble, with its eggs, cheddar, green onions and bacon, was featured on CBS television. The place features a fully stocked bar and a patio. Review © 2009, Wcities |
