The software industry is the focus at this annual conference, which also provides major software companies with an opportunity to understand what the OSCON open-source society has on cards. The event promises to contribute to the expansion of discourse between both the source and companies, and in keeping with this, a lot of workshops, tutorials, and events are held at the Oregon Convention Center every summer. The Portland Metropolitan Exposition Center is Oregon's largest exhibition venue. When the Oregon Convention Center is too cramped for a business meeting or an exhibition, they head to Portland Expo Center's 330,000 sq. ft. of floor space.
