Pendleton Park has a soccer and baseball field, playground and picnic area. Acquired in 1955, the park is named for the vice-president hopeful of 1864. George Pendleton lost the race to Andy Johnson, Abraham Lincoln's running mate. While drainage was the biggest issue when deciding how to appropriate improvement funds, the park also got new drinking fountains, benches and bike racks. The playground also received a significant overhaul and is now a neighborhood favorite.
