The sound of the auto races has been roaring through Portland for 70 years, and these days, it's NASCAR stock car races every Friday night. In the beginning of July, there's a Destruction Derby with fireworks. Other fun events include 300-lap Enduro races Memorial Day and Labor Day. The season runs April through September. Gates open at 5p.
